About the Scribbler's Journal
Welcome to The Scribbler's Journal, a collaborative blog for writers. It is a creative online space where we are free to experiment and write about whatever intrigues us. We try different styles, different voices and different types of writing. Some of it works. Some of it . . . well, it's an experiment.
We are all writers. Many of us maintain or contribute to other blogs and some of us have been published in more traditional venues. We are all on that peculiar journey that allows us to say, without flinching . . .
I am a writer.
I wanted a place where writers could share our experiences, ideas and experiments while supporting one another in the writing journey. I wanted a place where I could share resources and find a larger writing community. I wanted to be able to talk frankly about the lessons I've learned and the mistakes I've made along the way. And I wanted to learn about the lessons and mistakes others have made along the way. I wanted a creative outlet; a place where I could experiment and write about whatever strikes my fancy and in whatever way seems most interesting. And I wanted to give other writers that freedom too.
I also wanted to flex my editing muscles. So, in addition to writing and recruiting other writers, I serve as a gentle editor, offering suggestions and ideas to make each piece stronger. And I look for others to edit my work as well.
Through this process, my hope is to engage in conversation with other writers and those who read our work.
